Catholic Education South Australia’s Inclusive Education award celebrates outstanding educators or schools who champion diversity, wellbeing, and inclusion within their schools. This award recognises educators who ensure that every student has access to a supportive and enriching learning environment. These dedicated professionals implement innovative strategies, collaborate with the community, and advocate for the rights and needs of all students. Their commitment to fostering an inclusive culture not only enhances educational outcomes but also promotes understanding, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone.

Nominations for the Inclusive Education Award can be made by principals, staff, parent bodies or individuals.

Selection Criteria:

The nominee should:

  1. Demonstrate excellence in teaching practice through high-quality curriculum, pedagogy, assessment and reporting practices, informed by data t personalise learning
  2. Foster a culture of collaboration empowering students and families to have voice and agency regarding their educational experience.
  3. Implement and review adjustments for all students with additional learning needs to ensure full participation in learning.
  4. Demonstrate and lead by example the development of productive and inclusive learning environments across the school through reviewing evidence-based inclusive strategies and exploring new approaches to engage and support all students.
  5. Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that celebrates diversity, promotes understanding and respect.
  6. Delivers and participates in evidence-based professional development to enhance best practices and deepen understanding of inclusive education.
